The barrel-aging process

By aging mead in barrels that previously held whiskey, the mead absorbs the deep, smoky notes and subtle vanilla undertones left by the spirit, creating a harmonious blend of flavours.

The porous nature of the wood allows the mead to interact with the remnants of the whiskey, gradually infusing it with a warm, oaky character. This process enhances the mead's depth, adding layers of complexity that complement its natural sweetness. The result is a unique beverage that combines the smoothness of mead with the bold, robust flavors of whiskey, offering a sophisticated drinking experience.

Mead to make Memories with

This Mead has been a favourite of mine and my fiancé since December 2024 when we first discovered it at a Christmas stall and was also the night we got engaged and toasted with this very mead. It now brings back so many memories every time we have it and has been recommended to all our friends to try!

Rum Barrel-Aged Traditional Mead

A pleasant warmth from the rum, nice and inviting. Artwork is quite apt and nostalgic.

A mead to be recommended.

We normally have a bottle of port at Christmas but this year it’s going to be the Rum Barrel Aged Traditional Mead! Really lovely tipple.
