Recipe:
  • 1 bottle of mead
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 orange (sliced)
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 1-2 tbsp honey (optional, to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Pour the mead into a saucepan.
  2. Add the spices and orange slices.
  3. Heat gently on low (do not boil) for about 20-30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and strain to remove the spices.
  5. Serve warm in mugs, garnished with an orange slice or a cinnamon stick.

Pair with: Gingerbread cookies, spiced nuts, or roasted chestnuts. The warmth and spice of the mulled mead pair beautifully with these seasonal treats.
