Mead Making Course + Mead Tasting

Come and make your own mead! We will cover all the basics so you can reliably start brewing mead for yourself at home. You will also make 4.5 litres of your own mead. A great gift for someone who has it all, all - except mead.

Timings:
13:00 - 16:00

We will taste (lots) of meads and discuss their various properties and styles.
We will discuss mead through the ages, how it would have been made historically.

Mead making: From start to finish, with a variety of ingredients so you can design your own mead. We review the process at every stage so you can repeat the process at home.

After the course there will be lots of time to casually chat and ask any questions. Also, the end of the course will coincide with the opening of our taproom! (They may overlap slightly...) You are all very welcome to stay on at the taproom after.

There is plenty of on-site parking. If anyone is getting public transport to us, and requires a lift from the Caldicot train station, please let us know. Occasionally the postcode takes you to the road outside, please see the map below for directions to the door.

The course will start around 13:00. If you'd like to arrive earlier there is a wonderful castle (Caldicot Castle) very close to the meadery. Come and park in the car park by the meadery and walk over (3 minute walk).
